My pictures are already within me and they push me to let them out. But when I long for the possibility to paint without difficulties and conflicts it is good to remember that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure. Then I become fascinated in following the dynamics and impulses of my pictures, their forms and colours and their fantastic imagination. They materialize according to their own rules. The most important thing I have to do is accepting these rules and not try to control or to interrupt the creative process or to destroy the balance by self-willed, obstinate actions. Eventually I will be looking at the picture saying: »Welcome to this world« with gratitudeto the metaphysical NO!art metamorphosis.—Mathilda Wolf
